shay, 20 mins in u say?? well pretty much *PLOT SPOILER DONT READ IF U INTEND ON WATCHING MOVIE* (not that i reccomend watching it haha, pretty much sweeny wants revenge on the judge for stealing his wife and daughter and he believes his wife died from overdose or something like that. Anyway Sweeny joins up with this pie maker and together they decide to start making pies using the meat from the ppl he lashes out on. He slits about 20 throats (i fast fwded thru that bit haha) and kills a lot of ppl. They befriend a boy who's slave to one of the victims but they lock him where the meats made and hes like eating pies and then is taught how to make the meat and finds while he's making it that there's bits of fingers and limbs and ...gross bits haha. So he freaks out. Meanwhile 'joanna' his daughter and sweeny's ship mate anthony fall in love and eventually decide to like elope or something, never reallye explains wat happens in the end. and then this 'homeless' person comes to look at sweeny's shop because she thinks somethings going on and suspects him and he kills her- ironicly it ends up being his wife. then the boy they befriended comes out and kills sweeny because sweeny murdered mrs lovett the piemaker (who the boy loved) for lying to him and finishing the job of murdering his wife. (cos apparantly she was alive for a few secs but she finished her off as she wanted sweeny to herself. and thats the twist- that sweeny kills his wife and was murdering ppl for no reason now, and that he and her die together. good old sondheim lol he's renound for deep meanings in his film but it really was quite an awful film haha. sorry took so long, haha x
