nothing really set in concrete... as a returnee orientation isnt compulsory but im going along anyway cuz its awesome fun, after that venturing to san fran to see the glorious city again and catch up with a friend from my preivous summer, then onto oregon to hopefully see more friends and then onto camp 8 weeks later ill be northbound to seattle and then after making my way back to cali and hopefully leaving time to hit vegas and san diego before chuffing off home Smile

whats got you most worried about camp???

Post by Ybot Mon Apr 21, 2008 5:17 am

from my experience dont worry too much about the kids not liking you... if its any reflection on my camp they love aussies and its because of their lack of real education about the country and us... get them fired up about riding kangaroos to school and that and they will believe every word of it just like my kids still do beleive after 3 years.. lol your sleep will be suffering aswell so when its your night to guard the kids in the cabin try and keep them quiet and contained and get an early night in yourself...

im not really scared of going back as truthfully, the major reason im going back is for the kids... the kids i enjoyed the most are in their final year of camp as campers and i want it to be as memorable as it was 3 years ago. since then they said camp was far from as enjoyable as it was 2005, which is pretty damn good, knowing that i had that much of an impact on their summer. but in all the last time i went as a lot of people have told me was the last best summer theyve had which is what im worried about. whats changed over the years im not so sure about, but im worred that its not going to be as enjoyable as it was years ago but im sure its going to one huge summer once again and its going to be a great experience as it will be for you Smile

do you think you will cry at the end of camp???

i kept it together til the closest friends i had as staff members left camp and then i sat in the gutter at the culdesac of camp and balled my eyes out... i couldnt beleive it... it was so sad to see the weeks come to an end..

not too sure about that... will definately be the last before i finish uni, i might go again after i finish just for some more degree related experience but i think ill venture to an east coast camp as i want to see new york and the east coast next time i visit the usa otherwise ill go for a round the world trip bypassing a visit to camp...

you are still young so theres plenty of time for you to venture back... Smile

what are you going to miss while you are away... besides your bed lol

Post by Ybot Mon Apr 21, 2008 5:36 am

well i dont think youll be able to take your cat along so give him a big hug before you go and make sure he is in capable hands while you are away

your friends will still be here when you get back although you will make some awesome friends while you are away so dont stress too much about that...

thongs in the shower, yeah thats a pain in the ass but at times necessary to keep yourself safe from any weirdo diseases...

as for the drinking... my trip last time threw out my alcohol tolerance and eventually led to my total avoidance of alcohol... and seriously if you cant handle 3 months without it id be worried... but thats just me who knows what your alcohol habits are...

as for home... not really there isnt much drama at all in my family now that my sister is back from overseas i feel better that my mum will have someone looking after while im away seeing as i do the most for her and im hoping that my brothers come and see her while im away more often than they do currently so yeah who knows what will happen with that...

are you on msn atm?
